Only the top moderator the creator of WMV can change the home page. And he's gone 'til 2010.

First, many many thanks for fixing (and expanding?) the WMV! So far it is working great, except the following bugs (using Vista 64-bit):
- WoWMV often crashes when "saving screenshots" ("fatal exception error", "Runtime error")
- the tool doesn't seem to remember the directory i last opened (for example when loading characters), thus i have to browse through my drive every time which can get a bit annoying
But again, i very much appreciate your work!

I've spotted a minor bug, which I can work around but is still worth noting. Particles aren't working properly on my system yet, either, but that may be my graphics card.
If I equip a night elf with the "Druidic Helm of Second Sight" her eyes stop glowing. Don't know what causes this.

You rock man! Thanks for working on this. I'm still having one real problem though, and it would appear that I'm the only one this is happening to. My memory usage keeps increasing everytime I change something on a player character model. Every time I change skin color, face, hair/hair color, armor, weapons, even when I sheath the weapons my memory usage goes up a little bit. It doesn't happen when I load up creature models or change the skins on them, only the player models. It got a lot better between 6.0.1 and 6.0.2, but I still have to close out the program and restart it every now and then. I keep getting this error in the log file: 19:02:35: DBC facial feature Error: ..\..\source\WoWModelViewer\GUI\CharacterControl.cpp : line #796 : WoWModelViewer::GUI::CharacterControl::RefreshModel Any idea what's up? Thanks again for your hard work.

Thank you so much! I've lurked on these forums for a long time, but I decided to create an account just to make love to you in public.
And Kae: You shouldn't need to close the WMV when the memory usage increases, I have the same problem (Running XP-Professional). When I watch my task manager, and the memory usage goes up as I scroll through the different options, like you explained, but I can reset it to its default memory usage by merely minimizing WMV for a few seconds. It is an easier way of resetting the value than just restarting the whole program, you just need to remember to do it every once in a while. Hope that helps.

So far, I only see two things wrong with this new version.
First of all, I see there is no longer a GIF capture feature. Minor, but it's a pain in the arse to capture AVI's and convert them.
Second- I noticed that whenever I was browsing Items to put on characters, the screen would randomly lock up on me and i had to close the program. This, I believe, is a SERIOUS ISSUE. I'd like to know if this has happened to anyone else.

Thanks, that does reset the memory usage under Processes for me. But what does your PF Usage under the Performance tab look like? Mine keeps building up and only gets reset by closing and starting back up. I'm not entirely sure what the Page File thing is though, isn't that like using your hard drive as memory or something? Is it normal for that to just keep building? I've never really watched that before.

ok, i'm not sure if anybody can help with this but.....i had installed the prev release with the c++ and when i ran it it would just lock up my system. so i ran the uninstaller and deleted the wowmodelviewer directory and installed the 6.0.2 release. i got the loading screen but then it would just lock up my machine. i installed the runtime files as the install.txt suggested but it still locks up my machine at the loading screen. any ideas??
thanks in advance!

the rendering is GREAT! all the tiers work ... but theres one minor issue with the new faith gear crashing my version of modelviewer (i'm using the t7.5 version) when I'm alt-tabbed trying to find other gear, i get 'wowmodelviewer has crashed' this happened twice (i installed the C++ redist) its not a big deal for me atm but if you would be kind enough to fix that issue it would be great (if others have found an issue with that too, so i wouldnt feel like blizzard hates my computer ) thanks again for this new wmv ilthana

I've attempted to install this wmv several times but keep getting met with this, just curious of how to go about fixing it... Edit: Apparently I was making the problem too complicated thinking something else was wrong...fixed it, great program.

Can you please tell me, what systemrequirements are necessary? I can open up the Modelviewer but after max. 30 seconds it will always shut down without error message. vcredist_x86.exe is installed. The log shows also nothing particular:
Edit:
Oh, wait. What's that? 20:55:04: Use Local Files: false I changed it in the config.ini to 'true' (=1) and now it works :-)

Got it to work, it seems you can't use any other program to open the zip other than win ace. great job with the wow model viewer.

Great! Finaly a working one taht really works  But... Hmmm... I can only save .bmp files with mine. All other forms of saved images are corrupted or won't open. I hope this isn't because I have a 64bit Windows ><;;
